The Doctor Who Podcast Episode #18: Tom at The Fab Cafe!

Doctor Who is fabulous

A couple of weeks ago Tom got a day pass from the DWP campervan and went on a bit of a field trip. He visited beautiful downtown Manchester to take part in the Fab Cafe event being held there. Fab Cafe is a wonderful little bar/convention location which occasionally plays host to guests from the world of Doctor Who. Tom was lucky enough to speak to a few of the guests, and it is our pleasure to present some of these interviews in this episode of the DWP. First up is Rob Shearman, most notably the writer of the episode that brought the Eccleston Doctor face to face with the Daleks. He has also written for Big Finish and recorded audio commentaries for the official DVD box set releases. Tom also spoke to Charlie Ross, who has provided many extraordinary character voices for the Big Finish range.

Big Finish recently released a fantastic trilogy of audio dramas, loosely called the Klein Trilogy. They all share a common character, Klein, a Nazi officer, who was first introduced in the Seventh Doctor audio, Colditz, released in 2001. The character is back for this trilogy, and the Doctor Who Podcast has a look at these releases - A Thousand Tiny Wings, Survival of the Fittest and The Architects of History. James provides some background to the Klein character and reviews Klein's first story, Colditz, whilst Tom and Trevor talk about the recent trilogy. Trevor also had the chance to chat with John Ainsworth and Alex Mallison, two of the creatives involved with this trilogy.
