I think it was amazing! I'll try not to reveal much here, in case people haven't seen it yet.
Although I knew what would practically happen I didn't know it would happen how it did. I loved the way the Doctor showed Kazran his past, present and future. It was amazing!

I liked it. It was a one and done, without impact for later in the series, but it took a ludicrous concept and played it well. It wasn't a high concept episode, but as rollercoasters go, it was fun, weird, and exciting.

People who don't care for Moffat won't be converted, but it was for me easily a top 2 Christmas special. Not quite as good as Christmas Invasion, but very little is.

Oh, and the season teasers blew my mind.

EDIT: autocorrect changed liked to puked. I promise I did not puke this episode.

So-so for me.  Lovely to have Doctor Who on telly, lovely to see Matt Smith again, lovely to have it a major part of my Christmas day.  But the story itself was a long way from the most compelling Doctor Who.  Moffat phoned in the script for this one.  Still, loved the "Coming Soon" at the end.

errr.....well, im gonna assume that if you're reading this thread you've seen the episode......so if you haven't well look away now basically!!!!!

Did people see the white dalek inset thingy that was on just before it came on? I thought that was nice, but I definitely preferred the david tennant on a reindeer of last year, or the year before not sure.

I still don't get the "come along pono" thing t the beginning. I thought it would become clear later on but unless it was just me being incredibly unobservant again then it didn't.

The old kazran was a really good actor!!!! there's no surprising there considering his past acting career, but it felt weird for him to be the bad guy! Although after about twenty minutes when I had fully settled in I got used to it.

It was a nice, dramatic start and the look of grief on the actors' faces begging for the girl back was completely convincing. Also, the establishing shot of the skyline with the big shooting cloud controller thingy was actually amazing!!!! It was beautiful quality and was breathtaking, it reminded me of victorian/edwardian times only with subtle hints to remind you that this wasn't earth, for instance the floating fish and the massive afore mentioned sci fi contraption. This was definitely one of my favourite scenes because it was so picturesque and set the feel for the rest of the film. My other favourite scene was the scene when the doctor noticed the painting on the wall. did it remind anyone else of the eleventh hour? it really brought home how even though he doesn't appear to be looking around, he notices everything. Unlike me.

The fezzes made a comeback!!! And I loved it when the shark was pulling the carriage as it definitely was meant to represent santa. I thought it was a bit of a jump with kazran going from an around about ten or eleven boy to a twenty looking man within about 5 years. Also, I thought it was a bit stupid how the woman instantly falls in love with him as soon as he changes from the boy.

The woman was good but I thought it strange how she seemed so calm everytime the door was opened without even the slightest bit confusion as she got her bearings. The numbers on the door were a really nice touch and I loved how they were explained. do you think all the other ones would have them too? If so, why? Are they all ill or something?

Overall, it had a nice grand feeling and as promised really did feel like a christmas storybook. I thought the time concept was a bit confusing, and shouldn't the reapers have come? Kazran, I would have thought, was pretty important in time and the woman died whereas she wouldn't have before. Same with the people on board the ship, only vice versa. However, the acting was spot on, the music dramatic and sad in all the right places and the overall mood was good. I would give it about a 8/10

it wasn't 'pono', it was 'pond'

'come along pond' was a catchphrase of the last season.

looking at the teaser images, what was everyone's favourite?

Mine were The Doctor, bearded and bedraggled, as a prisoner, and Amy with the tally-marks on her face.  As always, an excellent package.

Great Christmas episode. The singing bit was the only bit that felt out of place for me and I am studying music at a music college. Loved the doctor leaving and then re-appearing on the projection straight after. Other than the singing and some occasionally not so good CGI/green work I though it was great. Loved the trailer far Series 6 too seems too far :(

Anyone else remember the Wallybee Facepalm Chronicles? XD

Already seen the episode twice, and about to watch Confidential!

Good wholesome Xmas fare for the whole family. 60 minutes in the presence of The Doctor is always an hour well spent - which is the prerequisite of a Time Lord.

Turned into an entertaining mish-mash of 'Who meets Dickens meets Jaws' ... but sadly no sign of the line "You're gonna need a bigger TARDIS!"

I am a beard enthusiast and as of Jan 1, 2011, it will be 1 year since I last shaved. I was just thinking the other day that we need a bearded Doctor, then I saw the teaser.  ;D

I also loved how they did the ghost of Christmas future in this special.

Living in the dark ages here. No BBC, no BBCA.  Been reading the accounts and am now looking forward to it that much more.

Watching the usual outlets of every sort to see who gets it out there first. Amazon seems to have a spot ready for it once it hits the servers. iTunes might have it in several more hours.

But yes...the teaser for Season 6 has hit the web and that is outstanding. The Doctor chained up in a hangar at Area 51?  Bizarre. Loved the blue sport jacket look on Pond. Knew that pseudo-TARDIS from The Lodger would be showing up again.  Screen was really tiny here; was that River Song walking into it? It looked like her leg holster and denim shirt.

Really glad to see so many of the characters being carried over.  They're well-developed but still have loads to explore in their makeup.

Okay.  Off to ...wait.
