Returning companion in 2011 series...
« on: July 10, 2010, 09:45:04 AM »
Posts over at another forum report that before John Barrowman moves to the U.S. to start filming Torchwood in January, he will be filming Doctor Who.

Meaning? Strong rumors that Captain Jack will appear in Series 6!

Does he have the time to it? I was under the impression he was double-booked through 2015.  :D

Just kidding. I like Barrowman, and would enjoy seeing Captain Jack return to DW. Seeing him hit on everything in sight is always good for a laugh, assuming he's recovered from the events of Children of Earth and is in the mood for some snogging again. (Alonso notwithstanding.)

Is he not already in America as he has been filming Desperate Housewives? *shudders*

He filmed Desperate Housewives months ago. His episodes finished airing in mid-May, which means he finished shooting a back in February or march.

Check the Torchwood board for more info, but Torchwood Series 4 was green-lit back in June as a co-production of the BBC and American TV network Starz. It will air 10 episodes next summer.

is summer the best time to air it? Its been off TV for a while and people are bound t be outdoors more in summer, and it has a more constricted audience than dr who anyway so is that a wise move considering they probably want good viewing figures?

Torchwood: Children Of Earth was the series highest rated series and it aired during the summer.

Good lord, can you imagine Jack and Amy in the TARDIS together?  Rory will have to put her in a chastity belt.

Lol! That made me laugh so much.. And if that really happened.... I might find myself awkward turtle-ing throughout the whole series

I wouldn't mind Jack back so long as he wasn't just 'set dressing' a la Utopia - Last of the Time Lords. Other than the Face of Boe revelation, he didn't really add much. I like Jack, but I think he'd need a justifiable reason to be back.

Aw, what am I saying, course I want him back!

I'd love it if they brought Jack back for a couple of episodes!  Jack is sort of like River - fun.  I really hope the River rumors are wrong.
