Coming up in Episode 212.....it's the final piece of coverage from the Big Blue Box 2 convention, James hosts the on-stage writers panel featuring Simon Guerrier, Andrew Smith and Nigel Fairs.

Feedback always welcome (keep it brief!) at feedback@thedoctorwhopodcast.com - audio feedback under two minutes is prefered and stands a far better chance of making it onto a future DWP.

You have downloaded Podshock?  From the beginning?  My goodness!  Do you have a few spare months to listen to their episodes back to back?

In my case, it would require loads of medication as well.

Now now, be nice.  I'm not the biggest Podshock fan either, but they are to be commended for being one of the pioneers in the Doctor Who podcasting genre, and I certainly have respect for anyone who dedicates the amount of (unpaid) time and energy that they do to provide free entertainment and information.

I respect their longevity and the dedication to both Doctor Who and the regular production of a podcast devoted to DW. But I find the show reaallly difficult to listen to. And it's all because of the DWP (and before that, the WhoCast) and other polished and well-produced podcasts. If I'd been listening to Podshock before, I'm sure I'd find their style lovable and charming, but at this point I can't stand it. (Ironically, this is not too far off from a discussion I had with a friend who introduced his mother to classic Who after she'd become a fan of NuWho; she didn't like it. Not glossy enough after seeing the modern era stuff.)

I was recently listening to some of the very early DWO Whocasts.  Episodes 4 & 10 featured guest commentary by some chap named "Trev".  Good stuff--could have a future in podcasting, that one.

The current ep of the 20MB Doctor Who Podcast (#20) has an interview with Seb of the DWO Whocast, in which he says they'll have ep 5.12 posted next week and 5.13 will appear the week after that. (If I wasn't so delinquent in catching up on all my podcasts, I'd have known this sooner.)

Good news!  I look forward to hearing the WhoCast's take on the end of series 5/31.

To continue to try and fill time during the off-season, I've recently (and much-belatedly) added The Tin Dog and Radio Free Skaro to my subscriptions, and have started the long process of going through their back catalogues now that I've made it through all of the back episodes of TMTL.  I'm hoping to finish by Easter.

If you are truly planning on listening to the entirety of the Radio Free Skaro podcasts from episode 1 to the present, you will, in fact, be watching a lot of Doctor Who as well. A good chunk of their output is commentaries for both NuWho and classic Who, and I can assure you that if you're not watching the story in question, almost nothing of what they're saying will make sense. (Counts triple for the Third Guy, but... well, let me put it this way: they don't call him Pedantor for nothing.)

It'll largely depend on how fresh a story is in mind whether I feel like I need to have the story on TV to go with the commentary, I think.  I listened to their commentaries for The Eleventh Hour and The Beast Below in the car, and was able to follow along well enough from memory.  In any case, any reason to watch more Doctor Who can only be a good thing.

I tried listening to their "Eleventh Hour" commentary without the visual component and was instantly annoyed when they laughed extensively (and quite rightly) during the first scenes with Amelia and the Doctor. Couldn't stand it, so I opened up the episode and rebooted the podcast. You're a better man than I am, Henry Gordon Jago.

Are we really that desperate for interviews on our podcasts now we have resorted to interviewing other podcasters? :)

Given that Seb hasn't had a podcast released in months, I'd say the interview was justified.

Well, it's finally happened. After seeing it listed on so many others' lists of favorite podcasts, I decided to give it a try... and now I'm hooked on the Flashing Blade. Started listening to them in order, and although I'm only up to #12 (or 1-12, as Tony is wont to say), I see no end in sight.

I only have a few of his WhoCasts on my hard drive, so I hadn't realized how much fun Tony could be (although I'm finding it difficult to believe he was this manic on the WhoCast). And Jo! is a complete delight. She is charming and pleasant, and actually does fulfill the role of plucky girl companion in one significant respect: Tony gets to educate her endlessly on classic Who. (Well, except for the Vegetable Man stories, she seems quite well versed in those.) I understand they added a third later (Bob, I believe), but I haven't got to his eps yet. (Hopefully his arrival isn't as premise-shattering as the Third Guy was to RFS.)
