Doctor Who broadcasts in your country
« on: April 09, 2010, 08:45:19 PM »
So it seems most countries outside of the UK are getting a much shorter delay before the broadcasts this year.

Here in New Zealand there hasn't been an official date announced yet AFAIK (nothing yet on Prime TV's useless website) but they have started running advertisements for Doctor Who "Coming Soon".

What is the state of Dr Who broadcasting in the various countries where forum members live?

Saturday tea time here - the only slot it should ever be.
I just wish (for the sake of the kids) that we had more multi-episode stories. The discussions, second guessing or even re-enactments in the playground between episodes of a story were part of the richness of the whole experience...

Yes it should only ever be on Saturday nights which is why it frustrates me that ABC here in Aus seem to think 7:30 on Sunday nights is a good idea.

I actually it works well on Sunday, I did prefer the Saturday time slot though. But look at the ratings for it in on Sundays in Australia, its a doing a whole lot better than it did on Saturdays! Can't wait for Sunday!

In the US the offical broadcast of Doctor Who will show on April 17th on BBC America.  They will first play Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide premieres at 8 pm followed by The Eleventh Hour at 9 pm.  Of course that is for those lucky enough to have this channel, and not every TV provider offers BBC America for what ever reason.

do u have to be in England to get the full benefits on bbc iplayer? Or is it an international thing? Because I can't get onto the CW playback thing because I don't live there. Damn them! :P

I've tried this before and if you are outside of the UK you can't watch it, the website won't let you. However, I watch my episodes on www.sidereel.com, and I am in the U.S.

Doctor will start with The Eleventh Hour at 7.30pm on Sunday May 2nd on Prime TV in NZ. I have more screening info on my site http://doctorwhonewsnz.webs.com/ which I will update weekly.
Also I have added a link to these forums so hopefully we will get some more kiwis over here on these great forums.

Series 5 is now available on iTunes for $33.99 through BBC America.  The Season Pass inclused all current and future episodes of Doctor Who, Season 5.  Current episodes will download immediatly and future episodes will download as they become available.

One good thing about this is that you don't need a iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch in order to purchase the season as you can just download iTunes and watch it from there on your computer.  I have a new computer (because my previous crashed) so I don't have my DVD creation software, but I'm sure you'll be able to burn the episodes after purchasing.

Is it going out in any non-English speaking countries yet?
Any Inuit posters care to keep us up to date on which weekday it is airing in the arctic circle?
