News:

Coming up in Episode 208.......it's almost here! After 7 episodes and nearly two months of Doctor Who on Saturday evenings, the final episode of series 7 airs this coming weekend. Join us in the campervan as we review THE NAME OF THE DOCTOR!  My money's on Bruce.....

Feedback always welcome (keep it brief!) at feedback@thedoctorwhopodcast.com - audio feedback under two minutes is prefered and stands a far better chance of making it onto a future DWP.

Arrrggh.  After reading this thread, all I want to do is hold my head and scream while my brains explode.  You all seem absolutely bonkers AND absolutely dead on about what just happened in this Ep. and what's to come in Ep. 13.  Play nicely daisywitch or I'll have to remind myself how to remove insulting posts... you may believe your fellow forum members may have interesting ideas but deal with their points rather than insult them.  Thanks.

I suppose that this does illustrate that text isn't always the best medium for conveying 'tone of voice', and the same text can be read many different ways - after all, this is what an actor brings to a role.

And early on you could stop one with a sheet of plastic laid flat so their power source would cut out.

They worked that on out pretty quickly though.

Oh, geez. Those old Mark III Travel Machines! What a nightmare we had with those.  Every time you got on, there would invariably be one wheel that was permanently turning left.  Plus the mileage was terrible and the maneuverability was pathetic. What was Davros thinking? I mean--even in a Citroen you could fold down a window.

Hard to believe we used to get by in those.

Thank you, Murk.  Yes, 'tone of voice' - in my neck of the woods calling someone crazy and correct about something in the same sentence is considered a compliment.  I apologize to anyone who did not take it the way I intended and was insulted.

A few more thoughts about 'Pandorica'.

One - the Roman with lipstick was fun.
Two - earlier in the series the Doctor said "I'm most definitely a madman in a box". Could this be foreshadowing? Could he be in for a long stint in the Pandorica, sending him mad?
Three - The Doctor was very forceful with Amy "I said 'Stay Where You Are'"
Four - I'm hoping for a timey-wimey non linear, makes your head hurt but is ultimately logical resolution.
Five - Why can't River fly the Tardis?

Possibly silly question. People are saying it's the Cybus Cybermen....  I'm unclear as to how they can tell. Can anyone enlighten?

Could it be the logo on the chest? I didn't get a good look at it (just finished), but that may be an indicator. Or maybe the Cybus Cybermen have flippy-flappy face doors? (<<<Sounds like something the Doctor would say, doesn't it?  ::) )

You love the Doctor because you have to.
You love him, because you know you might never see him again.

Spins and turns, angles and curves. The shape of dreams, half remembered. Slip the surly bonds of earth and touch the face of perfection - a perfect face, perfect lace.

She did fly the Tardis, and then the Tardis did not behave well - she could not fly it any more, and it blew up.

Why?

Why?

Because the TARDIS is no longer under her control, but has been taken over by the mysterious "silence will fall" voice.

Here's a left field guess. Whoever it was trying to build the time machine in "The Lodger" is doing it. That person was never identified, just the auto pilot. And whoever that was is already shown to be a lousy pilot.

I'm guessing the dodgy Davros-like voice has something to do with it.

...and does anyone else see the similarity between what Davros was trying to do and what appears to be happening?

Yes I saw that too...

Some good ones, too!

I suspect that can be said just about anywhere, no?

Brilliant!  You're right.  That was a great line for a callback at the finale.  Because he didn't just say that, he underscored it and told her knowing that could one day save her life.

I think the "Silence will fall" voice is the Dream Lord, myself.

I said this in an email to a friend yesterday.  I haven't thought an argument through for it.  But that's who came immediately to mind when I was watching it.

Oh I hope it isn't. That makes as much sense as Big Ears.

Someone trying to build a time machine with semi round, plunger shaped controls at stalk height, who takes over control of the TARDIS and has a metallic sounding intonation to his voice.

Someone maybe with a grudge against both the Doctor and those ingrate travel machines Daleks.

Someone who would be just daft enough to destroy what he can't have (like a universe maybe)?

Hmmm, nope, no one comes to mind at the moment.  :o

I just can't put my finger on it. Way too many of the Doctor's adversaries could fit that description.
