Do we have any writers/artists here?
« on: May 14, 2011, 09:37:10 AM »
As creative a place as this is (you only have to read the kooky theory section to know that), I was just wondering if we have any writers, poets, short storyists, playwrights, etc in our midst.

I'm a writer of science fiction and fantasy, mostly in novel and short story form but I've also tried my hand at comics and plays.  In particular, I'm very fond of flash fiction, 600 word or less short stories.  I've had several published by http://www.365tomorrows.com including one that came out today

I think the only area of writing I've never had an interest in is fan fiction.  I've absolutely no problem with people who write fanfic, I just don't personally understand the appeal.  The couple of times I've tried writing it, it felt like I was playing with someone else's toys without permission.

So, any other writers, artists, poets, or other creative bods amongst us?

I've written some short stories, poems, and a novella years ago. Nothing published, though that's the dream! I've done some minor drawings and sketches as well and am studying graphic design. Check out my web site at:

I would like very much to write a Doctor Who book or do some cover art the books, cds, dvds, whatever they need.

I cartoon some Doctor Who on occasion, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE screenwriting Doctor Who episodes. If Steven Moffat were to ever use one of my scripts for a season 6 episode, i would be so happy!!!!!!!  :)  :)  :) Unfortunately for me, the age to screenwrite a Doctor Who episode on the BBC site (for the contest; don't know if the thingy is still up though  :( ) is like, to age 12 or something. It's cool that they want the younger kids to write for it and get into the show, but 'cmon! Give me a chance! Please, Moffat!!  :)  Make an aspiring screenwriter's dreams come true!  :)  :)

I have had a poem published in a book called 'Modern Nursery Rhymes' through a wonderful writing community called WeBook. Check it out if you haven't already. I can't describe the feeling one gets when they see their name in print!

This is a non-rhyme poetic piece I have on that site (takes 45 minutes to read).

I also have an audio story on dublit.com.
