Hi everyone. I'm Alyssa. I'm 30 and live in Boston. I've always been a sci-fi/fantasy fan but only vaguely knew about Doctor Who before I started watching it couple of years ago (I've never had BBC America and the show didn't really come up much in media or conversation in America until more recently). My British cousin-in-law made me aware of it and encouraged me to try it.

I started watching Torchwood first because I thought I would like it better. It had Barrowman (who I knew from being a theater fan/reviewer), a bit of James Marsters (Joss Whedon fan), and I usually go for darker sci-fi/fantasy. All I had seen of Doctor Who was the scene when the Christmas tree attacks in Christmas Invasion and the campiness made me want to avoid the show. I starting watching series 1 to find out more about Jack's backstory and then got hooked by Tennant. Series 5 was the first one I got to see live. I haven't seen any of old Who. I might attempt to watch some at some point but have no immediate plans.

Favorite doctor: Tennant is my favorite and made me a fan of show, but I really like Smith too and think the overall show is better since Moffat took over
Favorite companion: Donna (but I generally like all of the new series companions except Amy)
Some favorite episodes: Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, Vincent and the Doctor, The Doctor's Wife

I've managed to convert my in-laws, brother, and best friend into fans all on separate occasions within the past year,  so I guess I'm doing my part to increase the American fanbase. It's cool to see much more American media coverage and conversation about the show lately.

I have a VERY good horse, he does not like it  when the fish goes between his legs, but does not mind the casting. It was a smallmouth bass.
Cooking comes after. No I am not kidding.  :)
Did I mention I might be a little strange?

Well Hello there, I am Linus. I am a fan from the northern regions specifically from the country named Sweden. My doctors are Tom Baker and Christopher Eccleston. I like the current doctor more than the previous one. And currently I am re-watching the classical area of doctor who. I am currently on the first doctor. I am currently up to the last part of "The Keys of Marinus" story

Well now then other than Doctor Who in my life there are other sides of life revolve around roleplaying, gaming and in general having a bit of fun.

In my spare time I go around to having fun, playing Dungeon and Dragons with my friends but alas I can’t get enough it. But I digress, Hello!

Welcome aboard, Linus! Great name. Peanuts was always a favorite strip of mine, and I associated heavily with Linus. :)

Hi, I'm Mike.  Just signed up because the podcast is ace, and this site has become a daily check-in.  I was wee and impressionable when I first saw my first Who episode on TVO, and let me tell you, Omega's jelly monsters were the perfect cocktail of improbable and unsettling.  Been a fan ever since. My Target novels are still on the shelf and still very much treasured.

Overall favorite classic serial?  You can take a stab at it with your Laserson probes, but frankly, I think you'd burn out your brains (very slowly) before working it out...

Hey, Mike! Welcome aboard. We promise not to throw hands at you, and I think most of us are clear of Grimwade's Syndrome. :)

Helloooooooo,

I listen to the DWP's whenever I get the chance! You help me get my housework done, walk with me at lunchtimes, keep me sane on long drives & accompany me when I travel ( you have walked along some fine beaches with me :-) )

This is my first post on DWP'S forums but I suspect it won't be my last... Keep up the fantabulous work!
